Buslink USB & Firewire Controller, P/N: PCI-U2F
BUSlink NEC D720100AGM chip PCI-U2F is an 8-port PCI USB 2.0 and FireWire card for desktop PC. The BUSlink's USB 2.0 is a dramatic performance increase over the standard USB 1.1. Whereas USB 1.1 is only 12Mbits/s, the new USB 2.0 Hi-Speed specification used by the BUSlink USB 2.0 runs at up to 480Mbits/s. USB, standing for Universal Serial Bus, allows you to attach up to 128 devices simultaneously with automatic device detection and installation. Since USB 2.0 Hi-Speed is an evolution of the existing USB 1.1 specification, it is fully backward compatible with current USB systems and peripherals. Even with the dramatically increased speeds, it works with existing cables and connectors. In other words, consumers will have the benefit of using devices they already have, so their investments are protected. Currently FireWire has the ability to transfer up to 400 Mbps of data making it among the fastest peripheral connections available. Combining speed with the ability to "Hot Swap", FireWire is becoming the connection of choice for external video, audio, data storage and other high-speed high performance peripheral devices.
